IISEE appreciate the information from ex-participants as indicated above site.

[4] Introduction of IISEE staff members (Dr. Yokoi)

In 1996 I have moved to IISEE. Since then I have worked for the training course as a lecturer and also as the course leader of Seismology course. It was announced in a meeting co-hosted by the World Bank and Japanese Government in Sendai last week that it is urgently needed to integrate disaster risk management into development planning. It is expected that the ex-participants of IISEE training courses are strongly related to both of disaster prevention and development issues and therefore play leading rules in their home countries for the mentioned integration. IISEE including me wish to support them through the capacity development of young generation.

Chief Research Scientist, IISEE
