[1] 2013 AGU fall Meeting

Dr. Shibazaki and I attended the 2013 AGU (American Geophysical Union) Fall Meeting,
which was held between December 9 and 13 in San Francisco, California, USA.

[2] JICA’s Technical Cooperation in Nicaragua

I visited Managua, Nicaragua to conduct the terminal evaluation on the JICA’s technical
cooperation for “Improvement of the Earthquake-Resistant Housing Construction
Technology in Nicaragua” as an expert of earthquake engineering from November 14
to 23 in 2013.

[3] The 15th SEEBUS in Taiwan

The 15th Japan-Korea-Taiwan Joint Seminar on Earthquake Engineering for Building
Structures (SEEBUS) was held in National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering
(NCREE), Taipei, Taiwan from November 28 to 29 in 2013.

[4] The 11th SEGJ International Symposium

The 11th SEGJ International Symposium - Geophysics for establishing sustainable secure
society - was held by Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Japan (SEGJ), Nov. 18-21
in Yokohama City, Japan.

It is a great honor for IISEE to announce the news that ex-participants took
doctoral degrees.  We wish their work continued success.

[6] Global Seismological Observation Training Course

The 19th Global Seismological Observation Training Course in IISEE will take place for about
2 months from January 21 to March 14 in 2014.
