By December 2002, a total of 1,164 participants from 89 countries had been trained in IISEE. We have played an indispensable role in the mitigation and prevention of earthquake disaster in the world, and at the same time has been contributing to international friendship, goodwill and cooperation through this training program.
The IISEE is conducting anniversary event and special publication on December 2003.

For contributing worldwide earthquake disaster mitigation, the IISEE operates an internet website named IISEE-NET since June 2002. The website includes kinds of technical information on seismology and earthquake engineering in various earthquakes prone countries. The opening ceremony of the 2002-2003 regular course was held on September 12, 2002. Twenty-one participants from seventeen countries join the eleven month course.
Ten participants from ten countries attend the 2002 global seismological observation course from Oct. 25 to Dec. 17, 2002.
