Pakistan is located in south east asia and india and Afghanistan China are neighbouring countries. Earhtuqkes in Pakistan are caused by the interaction of Indian, Eurasian and Arabian Plates. Red line marks the boundary between Indian and Eurasian plate. Our study region is located in north west part of the country where Indian plate is subducting beneath Eurasian plate and is knows as Hindukush region. Moderate earthquakes are frequent in this zone as shown in the rectangle. collision
