5. Abstract:
To date there has been limited documentation of the seismicity of Botswana because of the lack of national earthquake monitoring systems. Sources of information on the earthquake occurrence in the country include a number of seismicity studies that have focused on the more active Okavango Delta region, and bulletins from seismic stations in neighboring countries. There is an on going project to establish the Botswana Seismological Network (BSN), a countrywide seismic network comprising a minimum of ten stations that will monitor local and regional earthquake activity.
