In Japan, after the 1995 Southern Hyogo Prefecture Earthquake, the Government and local governments planed to strengthen their disaster measures against earthquakes all the more. Then in order to recognize the potential of earthquake damage, many local governments carried out the earthquake damage assessment. The number of local governments that carried out it is 46 among 47 prefectures in Japan. In these assessments many estimation method were adapted or developed corresponding to locality, hypothetical earthquake type and so on.
We exhaustively examine these reports of the earthquake damage assessments, and pick up some typical estimation methods for ground motion, liquefaction potential and geotechnical hazard. This report introduces these methods with pre-condition, input data, output data, outline of the method, note and reference.
However we emphasize not to consider
other methods that are not introduced here as inferior methods.
