Using the recorded medium intensity earthquakes at the Romanian NCSRR seismic network in the period 2003-2006 this paper is an attempt of estimating the site effects parameters within Bucharest. The transfer functions between surface and medium and respectively higher depth borehole motions were determined and the resulting parameters for soil and ground motion were compared with those obtained from H/V spectral ratio curves. After that, using both linear and equivalent linear analyses and adapted soil models, the response surface motion and the corresponding transfer functions were computed using a 1D soil analysis program code named EERA. The soil and ground motion parameters calculated before were finally compared with those from the recorded data analysis. All the results for ground motion and soil analysis were used to evaluate their variation among considered sites and respectively the characterization of site effects in Bucharest.
