1. IISEE Welcomes 21 Participants from 12 Countries

The IISEE opening ceremony of the 2015-2016 training course was held at JICA Tsukuba
from 16:00 to 16:30 on Tuesday, October 4. They are 7 participants of Seismology Course,
9 participants of Earthquake Engineering Course and 5 participants of Tsunami Disaster
Mitigation Course.

2. Visit to Edo-Tokyo Museum and Honjo Life Safety Learning Center, October 13th,2016

Oct 13th we have visited the Tokyo Low Land, so called Shita-machi in Japanese. Our first
destination was the Edo-Tokyo Museum, where we can know the history from 17th century
till today of Tokyo. Its ancient name was Edo in the Shogunate period (1603 to 1868).

3. (13th) Annual Meeting of Asia Oceania Geosceisnces Society (AOGS), 2016

I attended the Annual Meeting of Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) which
was held from 1st to 5th August. I served as the main convener of the session titled
“Fault Rheology and Earthquake Mechanics.”

4. IISEE Alumni Meeting during ASC2016

We are planning to hold IISEE Almuni meeting in Melbourne, Australia during the 11th Asian
Seismological Commission General Assembly (ASC2016)
