1. IISEE Annual Training Course 2022-23 started

Last year and the year before,

the training was conducted through a hybrid of online and in-person lectures during the worldwide pandemic of the COVID-19.

3. Introduction to each course and system of seismology, earthquake engineering, and tsunami disaster mitigation

From October 1st, Senior Research Scientist Yushiro Fujii has been promoted to Chief Research Scientist.

As a result, the structure of the three courses in the Regular (one- year) Course is as follows.

4. 3rd European Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (3ECEES) in Bucharest, Romania

Dr. Kashima and I attended the 3rd European Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (3ECEES)

which was held at the palace of parliament in Bucharest, Romania, from 4 to 9 September 2022.

5. 13th Joint Meeting of the UJNR Panel on Earthquake Research

The 13th Joint Meeting of the United States-Japan Cooperative Program in Natural Resources (UJNR) Panel on Earthquake Research

was held in Anchorage, Alaska, USA, from September 27 to 29.
