Detail

1. Needs Survey for JICA training courses has started!

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and JICA (Japan
International Cooperation Agency) have started the Needs Survey for
JICA training courses. For the IISEE to accept participants from your
country to the 2011-2012 IISEE training courses, which will start on the
end of September 2011, it is necessary that your country should select the
JICA "Seismology, Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Management Policy"
and/or "Tsunami Disaster Mitigation" Courses with high priority. We expect
that your institution will request your Government to choose these courses
with high priority among JICA training courses in the menu that JICA provide
for your country. Therefore, we would like to ask you to encourage your
institution to make actions in this direction. Since the deadline of the
Needs Survey will be August, your immediate action is highly appreciated. In
the case that your government would like to send two or more participants
to one course, (for example, 1) your institute wants to send two staff
members to the Seismology course, or 2) your institute and another institute
in your country want to sent one participant to Seismology Course and one
participant to Earthquake Engineering Courses, respectively), your country
is requested to obtain two or more positions in the course. We are looking
forward to accepting participants from your institution in the near future.
