1. Special page on the Haiti Earthquake of Jan 12, 2010

2. Renewal of Synopsis of Master Paper on IISEE website

Last September, the 22 participants of the 2008-2009 course from 11
countries completed their master papers and were awarded master's degree in
disaster management. In this renewal, the synopsis of the Master Paper of
2008-2009 course and the abstract of the Master Paper of the 2005-2006
course have added.

3. WWW Links on IISEE website has been renewed

Last July we asked to let us know your organization's website, if it was
possible to link with ours. In response to our request, many ex-participants
informed us their websites. We renewed this page as soon as we received new
information and the renewal was finished. We greatly appreciate your
cooperation.

4. The 2010 Global Seismological Observation Course started

The 2010 (JFY2009) Global Seismological Observation Course started to learn
discrimination techniques between earthquakes and nuclear explosion. We have
been conducting this training since 1995. As of today, 139 participants from
69 countries have taken this course. This 2010 training course will be
conducted for 2 months from January 7 to March 5, 2010, with 11 participants
from 8 countries (China, Costa Rica, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan,
Paraguay, Tonga) in cooperation with JICA and Japan Meteorological Agency.
